The Issues of this City Require All of Us Working Together

The issues of the city require everyone working together. So, when a 15-year-old steals a car and a gun, rams one of our buses, and then flees on foot, who can we partner with? IMPD does an amazing job and makes sure the suspect is caught and our fire and medic crews respond quickly and effectively.

But now, who do we need help from? The answer to this is the juvenile court system. This, unfortunately, is a common story. There is no partnership with the community and juvenile court. No punishment means no deterrent. The juvenile doesn’t face any repercussions for their actions.

When this is the case, the community suffers. For the sake of the juvenile and our community, please respond, not with willful ignorance but thoughtful care and discipline.
