Shepherd’s Internship Programs focus on developing leaders for a lifestyle of Kingdom service by immersing interns in urban ministry, leadership development, and experiences designed to clarify a personal call. While participating in the Shepherd Internship Programs, interns have the opportunity to practice in incarnational ministry by living, working, and worshiping in the neighborhood. Interns will have the opportunity to minister in multiple areas of ministry and contribute to the mission of breaking the cycle of poverty on the near Eastside of Indianapolis.
Heart of the City Summer Internship: Shepherd’s 6-week Heart of the City Summer Intern Project develops young, emerging leaders through a dynamic, hands-on experience in an urban culture. Fellowship Internship: a yearlong experience geared toward recent college graduates who desire a fully immersive year of mission in an urban context. The year begins in June with the incredible ‘spiritual greenhouse’ environment of our HOTC Summer Program, continues with the regular school year, and wraps up in May. August through May involves morning work in an area of personal interest, study, or calling.
