At Shepherd Community Center, our work to help break the cycle of poverty does not conclude with the school year. In fact, the summer allows Shepherd to invest 6 weeks, or 210 hours, of fun, intentional time with these children. Summer is about more than academics; it’s about developing meaningful, mentoring relationships with students for an entire summer with our volunteers, interns, and staff members.
Through our Continuum of Care, our Summer Programs allow our students to meet their physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic needs.
We have two different Summer Programs:
- Summer EXCEL for our first through sixth graders
- Summer YLIFe for our seventh through twelve graders
