saturday morning

shep29Saturday Mornings at Shepherd are a special time where our neighbors are able to receive groceries, toiletries, and other necessities from our Food Pantry. This is more than just a Food Pantry, however. It’s a time where our neighbors can feel the joy and hope of God’s love through group devotionals and individual prayer time. Saturday Mornings are all about building relationships.

Our Saturday Mornings also serve as a connection point into other Shepherd services that families may need.

For more information on Saturday Morning Ministries, please email David Noe at davidn@shepherdcommunity.org.

Groups of 8-10 adults (children 12 and up can also help but not in the kitchen area) provide, prepare, and serve breakfast for our Health Clinic guests and family members. On average, groups feed about 65 individuals a menu of eggs, pancakes, fruit, milk, juice, and coffee. Group members arrive at 8am to begin preparations. Serving runs from 9-11:30am with clean up from 11:30am – Noon. One group member is required to have a kitchen training/walk-through before serving the first time.

Groups are asked to provide the following food items:

Perishable Items Needed: Non-Perishable Items Needed:
  • 3 gallons skim milk
  • Fruit (2 large bags of oranges, 2 bunches of bananas, or 2 seasonal fruit)
  • 8-10 dozen eggs
  • Stick of butter
  • 1 large box/bag of pancake mix
  • 3 regular size sugar free bottles of syrup
