Summer Childcare Needs
Volunteers needed to provide childcare (infant – elementary) during our summer Monday morning, Monday evening and Saturday morning programs.
Ministry: Mom’s Club
Hours: Monday mornings, 8:45 AM– 12 noon
Location: 4107 E. Washington St
Qty needed: 2 per week
Min age: 16-17 yrs old; 18+ (background check and orientation required)
*Spanish helpful but not required
Ministry: Clinic Childcare
Hours: Saturdays: 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Location: 4107 E. Washington St.
Qty needed: 1-2 each week to help staff person
Min. age: 16-17 yrs old; 18+ (background check and orientation required)
Ministry: Childcare for parents attending Adult ESL Class
Hours: Monday evening, 6:00-9:00 pm
Location: 4107 E. Washington St.
Qty needed: 1-2 each week
Min. age: 16-17 yrs old; 18+ (background check and orientation required)
Food Service Team – Food Bag Prep
Help prepare weekend food bags for our families. Light – mid lifting may be required.
Location: 4107 E. Washington St.
Hours: 9:00 am – 2 pm, Mon & Thurs
Dates: Ongoing
Min age: 18
Health Clinic– Dr, NP, PA, RN, LPN, Pharmacist, Dentist, Optometrist and Interpreters (Spanish)
Ministry: We need medical professionals to diagnose our children and adult patients’ illnesses, do lab work, and fill prescriptions at Shepherd’s health clinic Saturday mornings. We also need adults who can help interpret between medical professionals and patients.
Hours: 8:30 AM. – 12 noon
Location: 4107 E. Washington Street
Dates: Year-Round, 1st-4th Saturdays of the month
Min age: 24 yr old licensed professional (background check, Statement of Confidentiality, copy of medical license, and orientation required)
Service Learning - College students majoring in health care fields will be allowed to shadow and perform minimal services under the supervision of a medical professional.
Mentoring Program Ministry:
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to invest deeply into the lives of those we serve. It is our hope that each child in our program will have a mentor – a consistent presence in his/her life to help them grow spiritually, mentally, physically and socially. To make the program successful, we also need recruiters, screeners, mentoring supervisors, trainers, and prayer coordinators (just to name a few). Hours: 3-4 hour initial training & 2-3 hours per week with child.
Min age: 21
Addtl Req: Self-assessment to review qualifications to participate.
Background check and general orientation.
One-year minimum requirement after first meeting with child.
