3q-10 hunger-plenty1-smHow would Shepherd look in cartoons?
In 2010, Indianapolis Star Cartoonist Gary Varvel illustrated the problem of poverty in eleven full-page, color cartoons. The feature was called "The Path to Hope" and appeared as part of the Star's "Our Children, Our City" series. It offers even the casual reader a primer on poverty in Indianapolis that is concise and insightful in a format that is easily approachable. Many of the cartoons feature Shepherd Community Center and / or those involved in Shepherd programs. To see all of Varvel's work in the series, click here.
