This past Christmas was a bright spot of love and generosity in an otherwise bleak year. Thousands of donors and more than six hundred volunteers made it possible for the poorest of our neighbors to have a full Chirstmas holiday. Thanks to donoations from people like you, we were able provide more than just food and gifts, we were able provide a ray of hope that is so desperately needed these days.
During the 2009 Christmas season:
• we distributed 1,377 food totes.
• we served 500 people at our Christmas Festival.
• we gave away more than $50,000 worth of gifts.
• more than 2,000 kids received Christmas gifts.
The Shepherd Community Center staff and board want to express our gratitude to all of you who gave, volunteered, and prayed--to all of you who sacrificed in some way so that those less fortunate could have a little more hope, joy, and understanding at Christmas time. Thank you all very much.
