Shepherd’s Christmas Festival
Shepherd’s Christmas Festival is just one of the many ways we bring hope to our families throughout the holiday season. The Christmas Festival takes place on December 19 this year, and will be an "open house" where our families can eat a meal together and participate in many fun activities (including face painting, crafts, animal shows, visiting "Reindeer Island", and more).
We're expecting approximately 350 children and their families. Below is a list of the many ways you, your family, or small group can be involved with our Festival. If you would like to participate in this fun event, please contact us at event@shepherdcommunity.org:
Christmas Festival Needs:
- 2 small groups to sponsor crafts for the children (a sponsorship includes providing the Christmas-themed craft activity, drop cloths, and supplying volunteers to help work with the children on the craft). Looking for a pre-K/toddler-appropriate craft as well as an elementary-appropriate craft.
- 3-4 people to sponsor face-painting stations (providing face-painting supplies). In addition, we’re looking for artistic people to do the face painting.
- 10 Hallway monitors and Festival “tour” guides (to help guide our families from activity to activity)
- Cleaning crews to help monitor restrooms during the event and assist in clean-up afterwards
- Instrumental or vocal artists to provide mealtime entertainment throughout the festival (this is a great opportunity for small choir groups, or small orchestra ensembles to be able to perform).
- Strong arms and willing hearts to help our families carry food totes to their vehicles.
- Donations of photo paper/ink supplies to print digital portraits we will be taking of our families (please contact us for specifics).
- Spanish interpreters to be on hand during the festival.
