A prescription for a patient in our free clinic
$25.00 for a prescription for one month
In an effort to address the health needs of our neighbors, Shepherd Community Center has a free neighborhood Health Clinic that is open four Saturday mornings a month. The Clinic is currently treating short-term illnesses and health problems such as ear infections, bronchitis, etc. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and administrative staff volunteer their time and skills to make this program a success. Volunteers are also on hand to baby-sit, guide visitors and patients through the Clinic and to provide breakfast.

Shepherd Community Center hosts a food pantry where more than 40 bags of groceries and other necessities are given out each week to people in the community.

According to the USDA; 8 out of 10 children on Indianapolis' near eastside only receive two meals IF in school. To meet the physical needs of the youth in our programs, Shepherd Community Center's Food Services program provides three meals a day to program participants during the school year and two meals a day during the summer.
School desk and chair for Shepherd Academy
$110.00 per student
Shepherd Community Center has a preschool/school for children ages 3 through second grade. Each child is cherished and loved in an environment where their physical, emotional, academic and spiritual skills will be mastered. Each parent is respected and offered all of our other services as well as the one-on-one attention the teachers pay to their needs and the needs of their children. The teachers work with the children to achieve goals that will allow them to succeed as they begin a life of learning.
Computer for after school program
$500 per student
The first objective for Shepherd's kids is to graduate high school. Because of this, homework time during the after school program is a very serious time for these students. Without good grades they cannot graduate or go on to higher education gaining self sufficiency in a world were college degrees are key. After homework is complete, the students can participate in a variety of fun, challenging activities, all while being in a safe place surrounded by adult Christian role models.
