Is it about turkey?

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Well you would never know it here. No turkeys here, just lots of chickens…60,000 pounds of chickens. Thanks to the Indiana Poultry Association, they donated 60,000 pounds of chicken and lots of eggs and a few turkeys to the Governor and Lt. Governor. They in turn donated it to Shepherd Community. We have helped well over 1100 families here in our neighborhood. We have helped thousands through partnering with other great groups here in the state. Thanks to Sodrel Trucking who have shuttled all the chicken for us and provided a freezer truck at no charge. They have been a huge help.

I also want to thank Indian Creek Christian Church whose member’s provided over 1100 Thanksgiving baskets.

We have much to be thankful for…..families blessed by others. i am blessed with a great family and a wonderful staff. Let me know how you are blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving

Been awhile

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Yes, it has been awhile since I last wrote. So sorry, and thanks to those of you who emailed to see where I have been. Don’t worry, I haven’t fallen asleep at my desk. No worry about that. These continue to be exciting days.

As we roll up to election day, I am sure many things are on the airwaves and many promises. Well, here is a way you can vote:

VOTE TO END HUNGER

Shepherd is busy preparing for the 1000 Thanksgiving baskets we will receive from a great partner, Indian Creek Christian Church. But our part is to raise $10,000 to purchase a $10 gift card for each basket to enable the families to purchase whatever kind of meat they would like to fix. The baskets are packed with everything else.

Would you vote today, whether you are a R or a D or an I, we all want to end hunger in our community. Ask your friends to vote. Go to our website and hit the donate button and you can do it online. Or email me and let me know a gift is in the mail. We have a short time, but a big need. Thanks,

Vote early, vote often :)
