Finally… Fall

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Greetings, as fall sets in for us all. Finally, the heat of the summer seems to be gone and we are able to once again enjoy the beauty of the many colors of leaves. It seems that even here in the city we see the sea of color as it flows from tree to tree. It is a time of change here in the neighborhood. A time of change in all that happens at Shepherd. We are full into our fall, school-year programs.

But there is something consistently the same, amidst the sea of change. We continue to meet neighbors who need hope. Hope is defined in so many ways, but ultimately comes down to this: People need to know that someone loves them, and ultimately that God loves them. I feel so privileged to have had so many in my life who have provided that love. Even when we fall, even when we fail, God loves us. I am thankful for a family who does the same.

Unfortunately, not everyone has that privilege, a loving family. I believe what makes Shepherd special is not our programs, but the fact we live as a family. What do you think makes Shepherd special? Email us.
